From Marketing Assistant to Senior Operations Manager, Engagement & Communications! Meet Racheal Nanteza who shares with us her rapid growth trajectory at SafeBoda, what it means to work in a fast paced company, her undying love for food & the soft life!
What do you do at SafeBoda
I am the Senior Operations Manager: Engagement and Communications.
Basically, I get to work with data to improve utilization, engagement and reduce churn of the driver community.
What has been the growth trajectory to your current role at SafeBoda?
This is interesting! I joined the company in 2018 as a Marketing Assistant but on a temporary contract. Then later confirmed as a Brand Associate in March 2019 where I learnt more about Brand and Communications.
However, there was an exciting communications gap in the Operations team and I was more than happy to take it up and run the show under one of the most brilliant people that I know, Deepa.
Once I joined the Operations team in the 4th quarter of 2019, I didn’t look back. I have grown from Associate to Team Lead, to Manager, to interim Food and Shop Manager to Senior Operations Manager over the past 2 and a half years and have acquired an excellent set of skills along the way.
What are the things you love the most about your job and SafeBoda?
SafeBoda is a fast paced company, has a number of growth opportunities which means that my work is constantly evolving in an exciting way.
My role never gets boring! I work with a brilliant team that is always brainstorming and implementing new ideas, launching new products and it is super exciting!
What I love most about SafeBoda as a company is the fact that it is breaking the status quo and professionalizing the Boda industry. Something we would not have thought was entirely possible 7 years ago and it is very fulfilling to work for a company that’s creating impact on thousands of people.
What’s the one SafeBoda app feature that you can’t live without?
Do I have to choose one? Okay, Ride!
This might sound cliché but a girl loves to move but hates jam and ride being hassle-free with predetermined prices (that are quite affordable) and well trained SafeBodas makes life a whole lot easier on my end.
However, it’s competing with Food because a girl also loves to eat so I will take both hahaha
What keeps you inspired and motivated?
The fact that there is a clear growth plan in my career that I am working towards.
Seeing me and the team’s ideas getting implemented and coming to life is also quite motivating.
Revolutionizing the Boda industry by solving real-time problems and watching the team’s ideas come to life.
What are your hobbies?
I love to eat… yes, that’s a hobby!
Traveling
Reading:- My preference is always Blogs, articles and short research papers about a topic I am interested in however, I am not big on books haha.
I love listening to music as well. It’s really one of my many love languages.
