How to buy airtime using the SafeBoda Wallet
If you are a new user, you might be required to set your Wallet PIN before buying the airtime. To create the PIN:
- Tap on Buy Airtime
- Tap on the Create PIN button that pops up
- Enter the new SafeBoda Wallet PIN and confirm it.
If you are an existing user, all you need to do is:
- Open your SafeBoda app
- Locate the ‘Buy Airtime’ icon represented by a phone.
- On the Airtime screen, add the recipient’s number by either manually typing it or fetching it from your contacts by tapping on the dial icon at the end.
- Select the amount you would like to buy airtime for. If your preferred amount is not listed on the airtime screen, tap on ‘other’ represented by a plus sign and enter your preferred amount, then continue.
- Confirm the airtime top-up by entering your SafeBoda Wallet PIN.
If you have a low balance on your SafeBoda Wallet, you’ll need to top up via mobile money, with an agent, or a SafeBoda driver.
How to top up your SafeBoda Wallet using mobile money
- Open the SafeBoda app
- Locate the deposit icon represented by a + sign under the wallet option and tap on it.
- On the deposit screen, choose Mobile Money
- Enter the amount of money in UGX from as low as UGX 500 up to UGX 3,000,000
- Enter the Mobile Money number and confirm the deposit.
- A USSD prompt will appear on your screen
- Enter your Mobile Money PIN to confirm your top-up.
- You will then receive a pop-up message from SafeBoda confirming your top-up.
You ought to note that mobile money charges may apply as you deposit the amount to your wallet, compared to when you deposit with a SafeBoda agent or driver.
