SafeBoda Announces Partnership with Ugandan Rugby Clubs as Official Transport Partner
SafeBoda, a leading transportation company offering boda and car hailing services in the Kampala Metropolitan region, has announced its partnership with clubs affiliated to the Uganda Rugby Union (URU) as the official transport partner for the 2023/24 season.
As part of the partnership, SafeBoda will offer discounted rides to players as well as to fans who come to watch the weekend rugby games.
The clubs whose players are beneffiting from this include Kampala Old Boys (KOBS) Rugby Club, Impis Rugby Club and Warriors Rugby Club. Each of these clubs will also have a select group of players onboarded as SafeBoda brand ambassadors — a role that will uplift their visibility and talent, both on and off pitch.
Speaking at the launch press conference, Ricky Rapa Thomson, co-founder of SafeBoda, says: “We are excited to partner with the Uganda Rugby Union and support their efforts to promote rugby in Uganda.”
“At SafeBoda, we are committed to providing safe, affordable, and reliable transportation solutions to our customers. This partnership is an opportunity to showcase our mission of empowering different communities to thrive and contribute to the growth of sports in Uganda, starting with Rugby,” adds Ricky Rapa Thomson
The partnership agreement between SafeBoda and the rugby clubs will involve coordinated content and branding, alongside promotion of all parties’ ongoing campaigns. The partnership is a long-term commitment to supporting the growth and development of rugby in Uganda.
“SafeBoda supporting these clubs as the official transport partner for the 2023/24 season is a significant milestone for the Uganda Rugby Clubs,” said Isaac Lutwama Nsubuga, CEO of the Uganda Rugby Union.
“This partnership will help the clubs provide convenient transportation solutions for their players and fans. We are excited to work with SafeBoda to promote rugby in Uganda and support our local community,” adds Isaac Lutwama Nsubuga.
