In celebration of this year’s International Women’s Day theme of inspiring inclusion, SafeBoda has been a key player when it comes to empowering more women in the Boda Boda sector and propelling them into the forefront of E-mobility innovation.

At SafeBoda, inclusivity isn’t just a buzzword; it’s now a core value that drives our mission to reshape the transportation landscape. Today, we’re excited to share our commitment to training and supporting women to become skilled electric motorcycle (EV) riders, marking a significant stride towards gender equality and sustainable mobility solutions in Uganda.

In collaboration with several stakeholders, SafeBoda is spearheading a transformative program that goes beyond mere training. We’re partnering with leading EV motorcycle manufacturers to promote awareness and widespread adoption of e-mobility, creating a pathway for women to thrive in this sector/industry.

Already, our efforts have yielded remarkable results, with over 60 women riders trained through SafeBoda’s initiatives, the majority of whom have enthusiastically embraced electric motorcycles. This not only reflects our dedication to inclusivity but also underscores our commitment to eco-friendly transportation alternatives.

Transitioning to electric motorcycles isn’t just a technological shift; it’s a testament to our vision for a cleaner, greener, and more inclusive future. Our EV training program equips women with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate Uganda’s bustling streets, ensuring they’re prepared for success in the Boda Boda sector. But our initiative extends beyond training; it’s about empowering women to take charge of their destinies, fostering economic independence, and challenging traditional gender norms. We believe that diverse representation within the Boda Boda sector is pivotal for driving positive change, and we’re committed to breaking down barriers.

As we forge ahead with Women Raising for Africa and our partners in the electric motorcycle industry, we envision a future where e-mobility becomes a cornerstone of Uganda’s transportation landscape. Our goal is ambitious yet achievable: to have over 1,000 female riders get into the Boda Boda sector, paving the way for a more sustainable and inclusive society.

Moreover, women aren’t just transporting people; they’re also vital in package delivery, supporting SafeBoda’s B2B corporate clients, and showcasing their versatility and invaluable contribution to the business ecosystem.

To sum it up, SafeBoda’s venture into electric motorcycles for women isn’t just a strategic move; it’s a commitment to shaping a future where sustainability and gender inclusivity go hand in hand. We invite everyone to join us on this transformative journey as we accelerate towards a cleaner, more empowered Uganda.
